제목	北, 8년연속 기독교 박해국 1위

국제 기독교 선교단체인 '오픈 도어즈'가 북한을 8년 연속 세계 최악의 기독교 박해국으로 선정했다고 미국 기독교 신문 크리스천포스트 인터넷판이 6일 전했다.

오픈 도어즈는 최근 발표한 '2010 세계 감시 목록'(2010 World Watch List)에서 기독교인 약 4만~6만 명이 신앙 때문에 북한 강제 노동수용소에 수감돼 있다며 북한을 기독교 박해국 1위에 올렸다.

익명을 요구한 한 북한전문가는 "북한에서 기독교인이 일단 체포되면 사람으로 대우받지 못한다"면서 "지난해 일부 기독교인이 화학 및 생물학 무기 실험대상으로 쓰였다는 증거도 갖고 있다"고 말했다.

오픈 도어즈의 칼 묄러 회장은 "북한처럼 끔찍하고 체계적인 방법으로 기독교인을 박해하는 나라는 전 세계 어디에도 없다"며 "가족 중 한 명이 투옥되면 3세대가 감옥에 가게 되는 경우가 흔하다"고 말했다.

북한에 이어 지난해 3위를 차지했던 이란이 2위로 올라섰으며, 사우디아리바아, 소말리아, 몰디브, 아프가니스탄, 예멘, 모리타니, 라오스, 우즈베키스탄 등이 차례로 뒤를 이었다.

이란의 경우 2008~2009년 최소 85명의 기독교인이 체포되는 등 2008년부터 기독교인 체포가 증가하면서 한 단계 올라섰다고 오픈 도어즈는 설명했다.

목록에 오른 상위 10개국 가운데 8개국의 주요 종교가 이슬람교였으며, 상위 50개국 가운데 35개국은 이슬람 정부가 통치하는 국가였다.

오픈 도어즈는 매년 전 세계 기독교인들에 대한 법적, 제도적, 사회적 차별과 박해 정도를 조사해 최악의 50개국을 선정한 '세계 감시 목록'을 발표하고 있다.
